I can't recall at which point my love for books began, but I am ever so grateful to my mother for fueling my desire even though we couldn't really afford it as I was growing up.
I do recall that it had turned into an obsession by the time I was around 10, probably as a form of escapism from bullying. Stacks of Sweet Valley books every week, as fast as Francine Pascal and her army of writers could pump them out. I was enraptured with the golden twins and the American life. And then Harry Potter opened up a whole new avenue for me, the way Goosebumps could not. After Harry, I started reading anything and everything I could get my hands on, from Marian Keyes chicklit to astounding biographies like Angela's Ashes.
I'm currently working as a store manager at a book and stationery store, which combines both of my favourite things.
I started one chocolate box out of sheer boredom, while I was unemployed. I wasn't quite sure what I wanted to blog about, so that's why my blog got that name. I also have a baking blog, Whisk It Away, where I also talk about dealing with depression. I also have a photoblog, but I don't really update it all too often. I should just really combine all 3 here...
Anyway, thanks for your time!
